GRAFTON/OAHU,HAWAII: Lawrence A. “Lonnie” Goldman, 77, passed away March 18, 2017 after a brief illness. His wife of 42 years Marion (Paredes) passed away in 2004. Lonnie is survived by his daughters Deb Gallagher and Mia Cravalho, his sister Karen Hutton, his granddaughters Malia and Maile Gallagher and several nieces and nephews. Lonnie was born October 2, 1927 in Newton, Massachusetts son of the late Beatrice (Berman) and Morris Goldman.

Lonnie, as he is affectionately known, always had a smile on his face and made sure that he was living life to the fullest.  He was known for his never wavering routine of hiking up Diamond Head 5 days a week and going to breakfast to the same restaurants 7 days a week.  He would constantly meet people, tell them jokes, and then offer to take them on tours around the island. Mia and I would tell him he can’t pick up strangers and do that, but he didn’t listen, he’d say, “everyone’s always nice when their on vacation” so he never worried. He would call Mia and I every day and tell us at the end of each conversation that the most important thing in life was to “have fun”. Mia and I have taken that philosophy of living life to the fullest to heart, and we make sure that we try to make at least one person smile every day. He was a wonderful Dad and never had a mean word to say about anyone. He was loved by so many and will truly be missed.  We take great solace in knowing that he is with Mom, the love of his life, and that they are finally together sharing smiles and laughs once again.

All are welcome to gather with Lonnie’s family and friends Wednesday March 22nd from 5pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. Funeral services and burial will be held in Hawaii at his family’s convenience.
