Alexandra Valoras was, and is still, one one my best friends and always like a sister. The Valoras family comes down to my family's cape house every summer for as long as I can remember. We went down to a lake close by to our house. Alexandra and I decided to go paddle boarding together and the parents let us go alone. BIG MISTAKE! The wind started to blow and drifted us around the corner and out of site from our chairs. The wind was so fierce that whenever we tried to paddle back, we were stuck in the same area again! The wind was so strong that we kept drifting in circles. We were stuck for at least 15 minutes, and the parents must have thought we had fallen off or something! One of the first summers down there, the Valoras and the Kane kids put on a play. I don't remember exactly what it was called, but Alexandra played the crazy old kidnapper lady! Alexandra also was an honorary Kane. Every year, we go to a Fourth of July parade. Emily and Nicholas were too tired to go, so Alexandra was the only Valoras with us. It was so fun, that she became an honorary Kane. Every year we also watched the fireworks. One year, the fireworks caught on some sea grass and there was a huge fire! That day we also played a great game of Pickle at the beach and Alexandra was nice and kind to every kid that played. Another fun time, was when we built a living room of sand! We made a box like shape and dug out chairs, doorways, coffee tables, even a TV! Kids would come and play in it and every child's request, was drawn on the sand TV by Alexandra. That went well, until it was high tide. At the beach, the water is very cold, but Alexandra always had a fun time. When she was too cold, she and my mom would do jumping jacks in the water to warm themselves up again after a long boogie board session. Those are just some of the fun times we have together and Alexandra will always be a big part of my life.
