Obituary for Carolyn L. Gemme

GRAFTON: Carolyn L. (Germain) Gemme, 70, passed away June 24, 2018 at home with family by her side. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Roger Gemme of Grafton, daughters Paulette Gemme of Oxford, Dianne Minka and her husband Charlie of Hopkinton and son Rene Gemme and his wife Pamela of Sutton, her brother Ronald Germain and his wife Margaret of Paxton and sister Phyllis Giles of Worcester, her sister-in-law Jeannine Levine of Leicester, 2 brothers-in-law Maurice "Mo" Gemme and Richard Gemme and his wife Pamela, all of Leicester. She also leaves 6 grandchildren who loved their "Memere"; Jonathan and Michael Guntor of Oxford, Erin and Matthew Gemme of Sutton and Hailey and Logan Minka of Hopkinton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother David Germain and his wife Lillian of Brookfield and her brother-in-law Alfred O. Gemme of Worcester. Born in Worcester she was the daughter of Paul and Margaret Germain and was raised in Auburn. She worked at Equifax in Worcester and Newton, at Northbridge Nursing Home as Office Manager and Philip Mara Plumbing of Grafton in Accounts Receivable. She enjoyed family gatherings and holiday meals together. She was happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed many cruises to the Caribbean and Cape Cod vacations with family. In her youth she was a talented tap and ballet dancer competing in many pageants. She was also an excellent water skier at her parents summer camp in Charlton and belonged to the SCRA ski club. She was an excellent decorator, coordinating everything in her home and putting on her finishing touch. Carol was a people person, enjoying meeting and talking to new people. She will be missed by everyone that met her. All are welcome to a Funeral Mass for Carolyn Saturday June 30th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church 17 Waterville Street N. Grafton MA 01536. There are no calling hours.
