GRAFTON: Patricia (Lavigne) Castonguay, 86, passed away peacefully May 25, 2023 at Advinia Care in Northbridge. Her husband Philip Castonguay predeceased her. She leaves her children Philip Castonguay, Jr. and his wife Norma, John Castonguay and his wife Joanne, Carole Castonguay, Cathy Temple and her husband Mark, Thomas Castonguay, Patricia Howland and her husband Bill and Liane Matatall and her husband Tim. She was also predeceased by her daughter Rita Houde and son Edward Castonguay. Patricia is also survived by her brother Edward Lavigne and sister Carol Hope, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was born January 30, 1937 in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Aurora (Perron) and Edward Lavigne. She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester and lived in Auburn briefly before she and Philip moved to Grafton where they raised their family. A beloved Memere’ to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Patricia always put her large, loving family first and her door was always open to others in their neighborhood. She was also an avid reader, had hard working hands that took care of her home and crafted projects that she so enjoyed. Always strong in faith she was a devoted parishioner at St. James Church in South Grafton.


All are welcome to gather with Patricia’s family Thursday June 1st from 9-11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. James Church 89 Main St. S. Grafton, MA 01560. She will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
