Obituary for Rosemarie MacCallum

Rosemarie E. (Fowler) MacCallum, 99, passed away May 26, 2023 at Christopher House in Worcester. Born on October 17, 1923 in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. Rosemarie was married for 76 years to her late husband George and resided in Grafton for over 70 years. She was a longtime secretary for the Grafton High School principal, retiring in 1985.

Rose leaves her son Wayne and his wife Rita (McGrath) of Grafton, her daughter Lynne MacCallum Haynes and her husband Jeffrey Haynes of Oakham, and three grandchildren, Jennifer (MacCallum) O’Meara of Whitinsville, Kristina Haynes and Peter Haynes, both of Oakham. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Rose was predeceased by her parents Jennie (Tupper) and Solomon Fowler, her younger sisters, Sadie Kowal and her husband Maurice and Winnifred Medina and her husband Raul, along with her grandson-in-law Benjamin O’Meara.

Rose was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1941. In 1945, she married George.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a dedicated member of the Congregational Church of Grafton. Rose and George traveled throughout the continental United States and Canada. Additionally, she spent over 20 years as a winter resident in Zephyrhills, Florida.
