Meet Ellie!

Ellie is the newest member of the Roney family and has joined us here at the funeral home. She is a Chocolate Labradoodle and certified therapy dog.

For many years Robert Roney who operated the funeral home, and in turn his son Steve, were always known to have one of their beloved Springer Spaniels make their way unexpectedly into the funeral home and greet families, always bringing a smile.

Ellie brings something special to us here as a therapy dog, as she is available to meet with families when they come in to take care of their planning needs, is here during visitations and even at services hosted here at the funeral home, providing comfort and love to people at a time when those things are so badly needed.

Therapy dogs have made their way into hospice care and in recent years they are becoming ever more popular in funeral homes. The decision to bring Ellie in has been successful beyond our expectations as her warmth and calm have been a great comfort to many families already.

We hope to have her here with us for many years to come. If the need arises and you reach out to us and want to meet Ellie she is usually here, but don’t hesitate to ask for her by name!
